Absurd contract extensions
I took out my 2 year contract with PF in Feb 2018. Mid contract i fell pregnant and due to sicknesses I couldn't go to gym and froze my account for 6 months of which i paid a period freezing amount and my contract was then extended by 6 months. My contract was then supposedly ending in August 2020 instead of March 2020. The assumption is that as of September i would be on a month to month contract which I tried to terminate in November 2020 but was told that my contract was frozen due to covid and therefore extended to January 2021. Strange thing is at the end of 2 years my premiums went up as they naturally would when a 2 year contract ends then they went up again at 2 years 6 months, however, nothing in my contract is natural because no where does it mention events like covid. The consultant I spoke to also informed me that should i wish to terminate I am liable for a penalty for early cancellation and also that in December 2020 they would be deducting double the premium as it is always the case in December in terms of my contract. Now what i'm failing to comprehend and what this consultant couldn't explain is why are my premium increments beyond the 2 years when I'm supposedly still within a 2 year contract. I also understand that i didn't pay premiums during the covid lockdown period but i also was unable to use the gym facilities so if my contract should be extended by those lockdown months then the premiums should be the same as they should've been during those months, not increased and the double payment for December should not be applicable.
