They are absolute ******. My contract was signed for R499 per month. After I activated my Discovery benefit, the amount was suddenly increased to R900 per month before any discount was app**** — despite the salesperson expressly assuring me that there would be no additional costs.

I was not given a copy of the completed contract to review before signing. I was instructed to sign blank sections, which were only filled in afterwards. After my signature, the salesperson admitted to a “mistake” and stated that activating the Discovery benefit would in fact cost an additional R700 — information that was never disclosed upfront.

I have since cancelled the contract. Despite this, a final debit order of R1,100 was deducted — an amount that exceeds even the inflated contract figure.

This conduct is misleading, deceptive, and completely unacceptable.
