Disgusting and Pathetic Service

<p>Yesterday was my dad's birthday and he came all the way from PMB to spend it with me, I wanted to do something special for him as this is our first birthday together since I moved to JHB. I called Del Forno Pizza Bromhof during the day to make a booking and find out if they can do anything special to make a fuss over his birthday, they said they will get the manager to call me. When the manager whose name is Mark called I told him that it is my dad’s birthday and I would like for them to do something special for him, he told me what they can do and I was happy with that, I then booked a table for 3 at 6.When we got there I told the waiter that I made arrangements with the manager and he said ok he knows.</p> <p>We had our meal but the whole time while eating I felt very uncomfortable because the service was somewhat questionable. When I was done eating I walked over to the waiter to remind him again, after asking for the bill I could see that no one was really doing anything so I reminded the waiter again, the manager comes to our table and just looks at us, he asked me what was the problem, this whole thing was supposed to be a surprise for my dad and I had to eventually tell him that I called earlier and made plans for my dad’s birthday, he then said “ oh yes’ I will be back, I was quite upset because, they remembered to book our table but not my arrangements, had I known this I would have went elsewhere and given my dad an exciting birthday dinner,10 mins later he comes to our table with ice-cream, by then I was furious and told him don’t bother as we were leaving, as a manager, he didn’t apologise or anything, he just waved away his hand at me and started screaming at me to the waiter. He didn’t say sorry or acknowledge his mistake, as a manager , is this the type of service you give your clients. Needless to say, I will never go back there, I mean if the manager behaves like this imagine what the waiters are capable of. We used to get Del Fornos, 3 if not 4 times a week even take our visitors there over the weekend but never again. This is also the first time that I am seeing this manager. I also tweeted this and am still awaiting for someone to contact me. I will continue spreading their bad service to everyone. I am just absolutely disgusted with the way I was treated and advise other customers to avoid this place should they want to treat their loved ones to a nice special dinner!</p>
