Thanks for your disservice!

So the family and I (my parents, brothers, their kids, and our kids) went to Piza e Vino in Irene Mall today. We totalled 13 people ranging in age from 4 months old to 63 years old comprising of eight adults and five children, the eldest turning three years old in July. Sitting down we were appreciative of the beautiful decor, and the comfy chairs. Those would be the last positive things we could find of the establishment.

So after we placed our orders (drinks AND food) we proceeded to converse amongst ourselves. Being breakfast time, most of us ordered breakfasts, coffee, tea and juices in a variety of flavours. Half an hour later my sister-in-law had to go and enquire as to where our drinks were. Finally after waiting another agonizing 10 minutes (with hungry and thirsty children becoming more and more difficult) we received our drinks.

Thankful for this deliverance, we proceeded to enjoy our beverages.

After the cups turned cold, the glasses' frosting having evaporated and our patience running thin again, my wife and I received our pizza. Lovely dish, but we were the only people sitting at the table (seating 13 people) that could start enjoying our food. If alarm bells and the usual annoyance/aggression meters weren't already pumping blood into the red, we proceeded to wait ANOTHER 20 minutes for the rest of the table's food to be served.

And when was it served, do you ask? Only after we went to the waiter and told him to bring the bill for what we have already received, because we were leaving. Suddenly the food appears. But again, only in drips and drabs. By this time the children were nearly impossible from hunger having already consumed a small but handy packet of dry wors and a plate of chips we had to beg for ages ago. By this time my wife and I had sent more than half our pizza back for a doggy bag since we were intent on leaving.

After what felt like an eternity, we left and proceeded to come home. Now my wife hasn't had a single bite of her pizza yet, since we were trying to keep our two children (2 years old and four months old) entertained and not a complete nuisance to the other diners, so needless to say she was FAMISHED. She attacked the leftover pizza with relish, only to find upon biting into a scrumptious looking piece of Italian-inspired hunger evicerator that she got more than she bargained for! I was glad the restaurant omitted to charge us for the 3cm piece of plastic found in the pizza.

After waiting for nearly two hours for food and drink at an establishment that charges R120 for a pizza AND finding a plastic shard in our dish just pushed the boundaries too far.

I demand that the owners of the establishment not only provide us with written apologies, but I also demand my money back, and vouchers to enjoy a future meal at their expense. This complaint will be circulated to all the newspapers I can think of, and also to my entire client base (most of whom live in Cornwall Hill Estate) as thanks for the disservice my family and I suffered at the hand of extreme mismanagement, discourteous and ill-trained serving staff, inattentive kitchen staff (I am sorry, but I cannot award the honour of calling you "chefs", "cooks" or anything that remotely resembles a person that can cook with a semblance of self-respect) and the lack of professionalism and manners expected from hosts in the hospitality industry.
