No aftersales service from Pirelli "NO"tyre...

Dear Pirelli Tyre (Pty) Ltd, We recently sent back a faulty Pirelli tyre to Bmw (Auto Alpina Springs) for inspection. The Bmw Team then sent the tyre to Pirelli for inspection. First of all I would like to thank Pradesh Pillay for the very brief report received… Second of all I would like to point out a few steps that you may have missed in trying to help the CLIENT resolve their problem before I explain what happened to this tyre: 1. Not one person from Pirelli has had the decency or courtesy to contact us to find out what happened to the tyre, where it happened, and what the road surface conditions were like. 2. I also used your website to ask someone to contact us regarding our query and I have received no phone call or message in the last 6 weeks. I would now like to explain to you what happened so that you understand and give us a detailed report on this tyre. We recently purchase a BMW X3 from Barney at Bmw Springs. Before we had the tyre problem, the vehicle only had 3500kms on the clock. I was driving and we were on the N12 on our way to Nelspruit. +- 50 kms into our journey I heard a noise from the back right hand side of the vehicle which may have been a nail or some type of sharp object. A few seconds later the Tyre Pressure Gauge indicator on the dash board came on. I immediately pulled over near the Dwaarsfontein offramp on the N12. The tyre had a puncture in the middle of the tyre. We called BMW assist and they said that they will try and find a loan tyre until we can fix the existing one. They also instructed us to drive to the nearest Petrol station, which we did. This was approximately 3kms from where we pulled over. They then called after a few minutes to tell us that it would take 2 hrs to get a replacement tyre to us which we thought was quite a long time to wait. BMW assist then said to us that we may drive to Witbank which was 51 kms away and that it will be safe so long as we drive no faster than 80km/h. We then made our way back onto the N12 and proceeded to drive at approximately 70-80 km/h. +- 3kms from the Petrol station we heard this strange noise coming from the right back tyre and we could also smell rubber burning. Because the damage had taken place from the inner side of the tyre we could not see any damage. We then called BMW assist again. The gentlemen then told us to use the repair kit which was in the boot of the vehicle. He told us to use the “blue type gel” function on the compressor whereby this liquid would apparently seal the inner tyre. We did this and we also inflated the tyre so that we could get to Witbank to have the puncture fixed as per the instruction of BMW assist. When we arrived in Witbank, we had the tyre taken off the vehicle where we noticed the steel wires sticking out and also the inner wall of the tyre damaged. The tyre was in perfect condition before the incident, as was the road surface and could in no way damage this tyre to the extent that it has been damaged! We have had many vehicles with run flats with punctures before which have been repaired and had no problems thereafter… This is a faulty new tyre and we request that you look into this matter in more detail especially when we have to pay R5000.00 a tyre. This message was sent to the above mentioned on the 19/04/2016 per email. We have received no feedback from both the national sales manager (Gerhard Jansen van Rensburg) and the Quality and Product department representative (Pradesh Pillay). Your urgent feedback regarding this matter will be greatly appreciated. Kind Regards, Leonard Schmidt
