Poor product quality
On the 2/06/22 I bought Mama's pies at a retailer and ate it about 1 week later. The product contains meat and is kept in the freezer till it's time to eat. After cooking it in the oven for the said amount of time, I sat down with my children to eat. The product itself advertise itself as a puff pastry. The pastry we actually ate was a type of biscuit dough or short bread dough. I'll attach till slip if needed. Immediately I sent Pioneer foods an email telling them of my displeasure about the product I just ate. That was on Saturday 11/6/22. On Tuesday 14/6/22, I received a phone call from one of the agent from their call center. They asked my details packaging information etc. Expiry date. Manufacturing date. I even had barcode of packaging ready. The barcode packaging indicated it was an export product. I was not happy with the way the complaint was handled. Today I received an SMS with a refund value of about double the amount of what I paid. My issue with product is not the refund per se, it type of quality control that product goes through. Does it mean that if and when a person buys a specific product from pioneer food you are most likely to expect other content in the product. How can a person or company be trusted if they do such behavior? Do to the barcode indicating that the product is for export or such does it mean whatever we eat here in South Africa is not important? Our taste buds are inferior? Or does pioneer foods not care for their customers. If I wanted biscuit dough or short bread crust I can make it myself. If I want a puff pastry pepper steak pie, I expect to eat a puff pastry pepper steak pie. Is this too much to expect? Just because most people roll over when things are done incorrectly doesn't mean everyone else should do the same.
