PINNAFRICA is a ****.

I took an extended warranty in March 2021 when my brand new car warranty expired. In September my car started misfiring and I took it to Ford Hatfield who diagnosed it as engine failure. Their tests revealed that my car did not have compression in piston numbers 1 & 2. Ford Hatfield submitted a claim on my behalf to PINNAFRICA who sent their assessor to assess the car. His findings were that the car was damaged due to a lack of coolant. His claim was that the car overheated and damaged the engine. He also claimed that my car had a low-level coolant sensor that would inform me when the coolant is low, which is false. He went on to claim that he tested (He forged the tests) the car and the car had no compression at piston numbers 1 & 2 as claimed by Ford Hatfield. He claimed that I intentionally damaged the car by driving it while overheating, which was a lie. My car never overheated. The assessor made more several claims and concluded that the claim should be rejected and cited negligence as the main reason. I took the car to a different company who serviced the car and replaced the spark plagues. The car stopped misfiring immediately and since then I have driven more than 5500 Km. I requested PINNAFRICA to withdraw the rejection letter but they refused to say the assessor presented facts. The company has levels of dispute resolution, BUT at each level, the claims manager is responsible for the adjudication. If they cannot withdraw the rejection letter, what about your claim? Will they ever approve your claim? No ways.

We note your complaint and concerns.  We as PinnAfrica Insurance Underwriting Managers validate claims according to the terms and conditions of the Policy wording. When validating the claim submitted on your policy an independent assessor was appointed due to the severity of the claim, and that it was a major component that had failed, being the Engine. Upon receiving the claim documentation and failure report from Hatfield Auto they reported that the failure to the vehicle and the reason for the engine replacement was as a result of a water leak which resulted in the engine failure due to low coolant. We then appointed an independent assessor who confirmed that the sustained engine overheating failure damages were a result of a loss of water. The assessor stated that from his findings, the vehicle sustained engine overheating failures. Both the reports from Hatfield auto and the assessor confirmed that a compression test was done and found that both cylinders 1 and 2 of the vehicle had very low compression. Please be advised there is no way to forge these tests, as we supp**** photo evidence of the compressions test that was done while the assessor was present. Please understand from the report received from both the assessor and Hatfield auto the vehicle sustained heavy damages due to the lack of sufficient coolant which resulted in the requirement of a complete engine replacement as per the quotation supp****. Further to the assessors finding he reported that the vehicle does have a heat gauge that would have informed the driver of the vehicle overheating, further to this point the assessor also confirmed that the vehicle has a slow water leak coming from the water bottle which you agreed on your previous responses to us that the above is correct and found that the vehicle was regularly topped up with water as there was no cooling conditioner (which the vehicle requires) inside the water and cooling system of the vehicle. Which informs us that the vehicle was topped up with water on a regular occasion.  We further note that you have submitted a complaint with the Short term insurance ombudsman regarding the rejection of your claim which we have responded with our findings and documents relating to your claim and our decision.  Following the above please be advised that we will not have any further communication regarding the claim and will await the final decision from the Short term insurance ombudsman regarding the outcome of your complaint.

This is the same response that I have been receiving each time I made contact with Pinnafrica and other layers of complaint resolution. The claims manager will handle the claims and all the complaints at all levels, including here at hellopeter, so funny. I expect nothing from your company because my car is in an excellent condition. Even the toothless ombudsman can keep his judgement. I only wanted to warn fellow citizens. I trust that they know what they can expect in case they decide to take an extended warranty with your company. Be warned mzansi.

It is a fact that I have been driving the car for more than 5500 km since your assessor certified it to be engine damaged. I cannot imagine a car that has overheated, driving a mere 200 km. You have no leg to stand on. If you do, bring it on. I am awaiting your litigation.
