Bad service

They are not complying with the FAIS Act (Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services Act) FAIS clearly state the following. • Act honestly, fairly, with due service, care and diligence in the interest of the client and integrity of the company • The need to have appropriate technological systems in place for proper performance and professional activities to confirm client information for appropriateness • 30 days to amend changes and provide client with contract. This is just to name a few. Up to date since I joined I was confirmed as a member at Pinn Africa and my payment was accepted. I had a minor accident Monday 14 May 2018 and my claim was admitted at Pinn Africa Tuesday 15 May 2018. After I took my vehicle for assessment to General Motor Nelspruit on Tuesday 15 May 2018 my car is still standing at General Motors and nothing has been done. General Motors are still awaiting approval and it has been four days already. When I was contacted this morning by GM they stated that Pinn Africa requires my service book and are busy doing a background check on my information I provided them with on application of my policy about my vehicle history. This should have been done before my payment was accepted. Where are the appropriate technological systems that should be in place? They were very happy with my contribution and now that I have a claim they are looking for a loophole to get out of their part of the contract. This is *********! Where are they acting honestly, fairly, with due service, care and diligence in the interest of the client and integrity of the company? (FAIS Act) I am been given a run around since day one from GM and Pinn Africa after I asked them what they need from me the day they took my vehicle in. When I spoke to GM this morning they stated that Pinn Africa wants my service book for a background check. I then phoned Pinn Africa and they said they have not received anything from General Motors like the quote etc. It has been four days I am without I vehicle still. I need to arrange transport for myself to work and back which isn't an easy task by any means. Four days and nothing has been done is unacceptable! I am giving them 24hours to finalize my claim and get my vehicle fix or I am taking this to the ombudsman.

Good day Mr Nthutang ,

As per our discussions, the claim documents were outstanding, which we received on 23.05.2018. The quotation we got from the repairer was to replace the starter as the starter is burnt out due to the armature having a short and they quoted R 9 673.59 including vat to fit and replace the starter, we recommended that you get a secondary quote as the initial quote was not in line with industry norm.

In following our advice to get a secondary quote, a quote was submitted on the 24th May 2018 for the amount of R2994.00 to replace and fit a new starter to which we sent authorization the same day.

We confirm that the query was resolved in accordance with our policy terms and conditions and that you are satisfied with the outcome.

Yours Sincerely,

Chantelle Jansen van Rensburg
