Confirmed Accommodation Cancelled by Pinnacles Seaside Unit

Highly unprofessional and ********* approach to my booking for 11 to 16 April 2021. BE WARNED - your confirmed booking can be cancelled at a moments notice by Pinnacles Seaside Resort whether you've paid your deposit or not! Petra was apparently unable to accommodate my request for pet friendly unit 2, but offered their family unit at 'the same price'. Despite the fact that the advertised rate on pethealth.co.za was R690, the 'same price' was R750. Petra admitted that she was remiss in not updating the rate on the website, but did not stick to the lower rate, as required by our Consumer Protection Act, and as any ethical host would. As the unit offered was larger than the one I requested, I decided not to quibble over the price, confirmed the booking and paid the deposit, looking forward to a few days at the beach, following a weekend in Clarens to attend a family wedding. On Friday, 09th, Petra advised ... 'Just to let you know I have managed to juggle things around and so you and your furry friends are staying in Unit 2, the cottage you originally asked for.' Important to note that she did not ask me if I would agree to the juggling, she simply ignored the confirmed booking and made the change. As I was being given the smaller unit, I asked her to confirm the lower rate, but this wasn't to be.. I was then informed that 'the rates had unfortunately not been updated but you will notice that is does reflect " a subject to change" qualifier.' and that her guests have 'graciously agreed to move to the Family Unit as they will be staying here for two months.' On me requesting a link to the claimed qualifier on the website, she provided me with a screenshot of the LOWER RATES, and NO subject to change qualifier. That's not surprising as no such qualifier exists on the pethealth.co.za website or any of the other booking sites that Pinnacles advertise on. I notice that there are different rates quoted on these different sites so I guess the rate depends on how she feels on the day, or what other potential bookings might have popped up. The end result is that on Saturday, i.e. less than 24 hours before I was due to arrive, and when I was already en route to the coast, Petra advised that I should consider the booking cancelled. I've yet to receive proof of payment for refund.
