MTN, Pinnacle Marketing, MonitorSA - Mobile Insurance Claim Disaster

It is with great disappointment and disgust I write this review - referring to bad service rendered by Monitorsa and Pinnacle Marketing representatives (MTN mobile insurer and insurance administrator].

July/August 2018 I lost my iPhone 6s. The device was and still insured through MTN, Monitorsa and Pinnacle Marketing. My iPhone 6s was replaced. Within the first month, I was experiencing problems with the device. These problems included, (1) Battery issue: Drains too Quickly, and: (2) Storage issue: storage full pop-up message.

I have taken my device to iStore 3 times, for the same problem, but still, the problems persisted. By the 3rd time, I was really not impressed. I had no choice to contact MTN insurance administrator (Pinnacle Marketing) to fix this problem.

Arrangements were made for the device to be collected by the couriers and resent to the distributor (Budget Cellular) for assessment. the phone was collected on the 4th December 2018. A week later (12 December 2018) I start to do follow up phone calls and email between both Budget Cellular and Pinnacle Marketing. At Budget Cellular I spoke to Amanda Verster. I advised Amanda that, I am going away on holiday on the 20 December 2018, and that I would need my phone before I leave. I was promised that I will be getting my phone NO LATER than the 20 December 2018. Today it is the 7 January 2019. I still do not have my phone. And I cannot seem to get hold of Amanda.

Last week, 3 January 2019 I called Pinnacle Marketing to advise me on this issue. I spoke to an Agent called, Musa. I requested Musa to give me a call before 2 pm with any developments. Musa promised to do so. I have not heard from Musa ever since. Today, again, I called Pinnacle Marketing. I spoke to an Agent called Sbu. Sbu was unable to provide me with feedback but advise that Lunge (assuming Team Leader) will get back to me.

I have incurred a lot of expenditures with back and forth phone calls and emails between myself, Budget Cellular and Pinnacle Marketing. In addition to that, I have been hugely inconvenienced by not having my phone for more than a month, including the disgusting services and lies I have been told by these representatives working at these firms.

With all said above, I demand my device be delivered within the next 48hrs. Also, a full refund for all the long calls I have made and data usage valued at [over] R200, as well as a goodwill gesture for the poor services I have received.

I am looking forward to your response.
