a month with-out my computer and counting

When my 73 year old mother's Dell Touchscreen computer refused to switch on a year and two months after she had bought it, shetook it back to Makro. That's another story, but they finally arranged for Pinnacle Warranties to have it couriered to George on the 20th of October, although we stay in Pretoria. Luwellyn told me that I had tampered with the power supply (I had not) and would have to pay R280 to have it fixed. I paid and received a computer back that was badly wrapped and completely shattered.

They insisted on couriering the computer to their Johannesburg office, before they could do anything else. They finally agreed to credit the purchase amount, not the replacement value. They laughed off my claims of a replacement of Windows Office, stating that was not their problem, I must use an old package's product key.

Despite phoning nearly every day they have not released the claim. Werner, Michael and their accounts manager, Darryl keep on telling me that they understand my frustration, but can do nothing about it. Today Darryl told me that Sintdarien from Pinnacle (I was under the impression that they all worked for Pinnacle) would call me to sort this out as his hands were tied. I would simply have to wait for the call and could not have a number to call him.

I am at my wit's end.
