PINGO'S, Third Street, Springs - BAD attitude

PINGO'S - THIRD STREET, SPRINGS

Yesterday, 2 October 2018, just after 14H30 I decided to spoil someone with a ice cream cone.

On a previous visit, I went to the fast food counter and they directed me, to where the ice cream was being sold, IN store. Entering the shop from the arcade side entrance, I made my way to where the ice cream was sold, as I believe to be IN store. Since there is nothing indicating that clients are only being helped from a counter facing the sidewalk, I went straight to where I was attended to before. The lady at the back of the counter then began to reprimand me, saying that I should go to the outside. I placed my order, stepped around the pillar and then, while taking out my purse realized how unsafe the environment on the outside was and stepped inside again. The lady then continued complaining that I should be outside because that is where the ice cream is actually being sold. I said to her, I do not understand, on my previous visit this was not an issue and I am the only person there, why is it an issue. I told her that it is silly expecting me to come into the store to buy ice cream just to step out of the store to place my order and pay for it. She them went on commenting and waving her hands towards the patrons saying, yes, but then they all want to do this. While I have the utmost respect for rules I felt the way I was treated was totally unacceptable. Not only me, but her discontent towards the other patrons was clearly visible.

There is no indication that once you are in the store that the ice cream can only be bought from the outside. The way she spoke to me was as if I am bothering her and that she feels I am intruding. If she in any mannerly way would have spoken to me and not treated me as if I am a five year old bothering her, I would have accepted the fact that this is the way they prefer to work. Getting into a word fight over rules that is only apparent to the workers is not an effective solution for any problem. I suggest they close of that space so no one can actually buy from the inside and put up clear signs as to indicate where ice cream can be bought. They do not need to worry though, I am only writing this to get it of my chest. I will not go to Pingo's, Third Street, Springs again and offend them with my presence or humiliate them by spending any money there.
