FAULTY VEHICLES, PATHETIC CUSTOMER SERVICE

Please do not buy a vehicle from Pinetown cars, it will cause you a lot of headaches, anger and frustration as well as waste a lot of your time and they don’t care, trust me they really don’t give a damn. Please save your money and go to a reputable dealer, the reason for this post is because I do not want another person to go through what I did and so many others.

They claim their vehicles go for a 101 point inspection, but I don’t see how that can be true.

I purchased a Audi A3 1.8t from them, test drove the car everything was fine, I noticed an orange light on the dash and I was told by Mohammed the sales man it is a service light and when they service it they will remove it. I asked that the car go for AA COR and they agreed (even with a AA COR certificate the car had problems). I waited over two weeks for delivery of the vehicle which I found strange and every day I called to check I was told excuse after excuse and most of them were contradictory but I just left it (I also had to call to check the status of the vehicle every time, if I don’t phone I don’t hear a thing from them). The first day I took the car as we drove out of Pinetown my girlfriend asked me why there is smoke I said it’s probably from another car, but the next day my friends told me the car is smoking badly so I called Mohamed and he told me bring it in on the Monday, so I had the car for the weekend, the next day the water light came on, I filled water carried on. The next day water light again, now I knew there was a problem. On Monday as I was driving to Pinetown the supposed service light(which I later found out was a management light) came on and the water light again, by now I was not feeling good at all, so when I got there I told them I don’t want the car I will look at other cars they have. I then took a Polo Tsi Highline, from day one I had issues, from the electric windows to a humming noise(wheel bearings), the brakes were squeaky and didn’t hold well in traffic, missing switches etc, I also noticed the roof above the driver’s side was damp. I then sent the car back to them, and waited 1 week to sort the issues. When I got there the following week to fetch the car I was checking if everything was in order, to my surprise the only thing that was done was they had changed the coolant, the window switches was not changed and the other switch that was missing for the back light not replaced yet Mohamed told me that the last thing they are waiting for is switches. They then took the switches from another Polo and put into mine, they told me the other faults I told them about, nothing was wrong including the dampness, they said someone had left the sunroof opened but there is no leak. A few weeks later after the heavy rain the whole interior above the driver side was soaked, I mailed Shane the manager & Mohamed, Mohamed told me it will take one day and they don’t have a loan car to lend me but he will bring the car for me in the afternoon (apparently the drainage was blocked), I said ok no problem I finish work at 4 30pm as long as it is before that. They then fetched the car. At around 4 I called Mohamed, he told me the car won’t be ready I told him how am I supposed to get home, he then said he will try to get a loan vehicle, 4 30pm came and I called and called but no answer. At about 5pm he called me to tell me there is no loan car and he will pick me up and leave me at home, by this time I had already walked in the rain and took a taxi home. I was then promised the car will be ready the next day, yet again the car was not ready but this time he came and picked me up, I then told him I need the car the next day he said don’t worry the car will be ready I will drop it off by 10 latest 11pm, I told him great as I had a function on and I had to leave straight from work and we also close early on the Friday. On the Friday at 10 I called, he told me the car is ready he is waiting for the guy to drop off. I called again 10 30, he is waiting for the guy to pick him up to fetch the car, 11am same story, at 12 I called him and he told me he is going to mosque and he can only get the car to me by 1 30pm after mosque and that no body at the office wants to do him a “favour” and pick me up to pick my car. I then tried calling the managers but the receptionist told me they are not available, I then made arrangements to go there. When I got there I spoke to Shane the manager, he told me that they cannot be held accountable if the person they outsource the job to takes longer than they say, I was in shock, as a person in the sales filed if I told my customer that I would be fired on the spot, how can they use service providers who cannot give an actual lead time? All they had to do was give me a loan car if they knew it was going to take longer than expected or if the service provider was unreliable, I expressed my anger and disappointment and he then went on to say he is tired of getting complaints and he needs to fire someone and that I must send him a mail with all the problems I had. That was not enough the next day I was washing the car and I saw that they have scratched my front bumper on the passenger side. I have emailed Shane & Wayne but have not got a response yet. In the first place, if they had checked the sun roof they would have seen the problem, but no they didn’t which is evident. How do I know everything else on the car is in proper order? I am not even sure if the brakes are right on the vehicle and when I start it, it makes a funny sound on every start at any time.

So please guys no matter how good a deal from them may seem, do not fall for it.
