Worst Weekend Away at Pine Forest!

Hi there, So this weekend away (14th - 16th Jan 2022) out in Ceres at Pine Forest Dennebos At between 2am - 5am - early hours of Sunday morning, Our Chalet was broken into with no visible damage to doors or locks... While we were all slping inside ********* entered and stole 4 phones!!! Besides our Chalets there was 3 other chalers broken into with the same modus operandi. Also just phones ******. So I would advise no one to come out to camp here until this security issue is resolved After looking at reviews and even newspaper articles, this has been happening for a few years now. From the information we received from the locals we spoke to in Ceres trying to maybe find out where the phones could of been sold we found out that as the per all the Local stories it's an inside Job with the security and workers,allegedly given the fact in all the cases there has never been forced entry, leading to the suspicion that they have spare or master keys to the Chalets!

What's dissapointing is while checking in there was no warning given to us about the risk involved. Even when reporting to the admin, no Apology or empathy was shown, blatant non shalont.

Even when the police came they told us they come here so much it's nothing new to them, as they were taking our case they got a call on the radio reporting another exact same break in at another Chalet in the resort.

Reason for this review is to make people aware and create awareness, its not a nice thing and the violation you feel people coming in *****ing your phone laying next to you on your bed, who knows what they use to make you sleep so deep burning things or chemicals etc & to have it have happend to so many people every single weekend is no coincidence. What if we had woken up during the burglary, what would have happened? ****, kidnap...who knows.

Really dissapointing you come to have a break away holiday not to be ******. The resort took absolutely no accountability whatsoever for these ongoing events to visitors. It's such a nice place and has so much potential but this is really off putting.

After posting it on social media, so much people came forward with the exact same occurrence and what's sad is that the resort has done nothing to better the situation.
