Disappointing Experience and Unanswered Attempts to Resolve a Dispute

I would strongly caution anyone considering joining Pilates Dynamics.

From the outset, we were required to sign a contract before orientation without being afforded a proper opportunity to read through the terms and conditions. We were also not provided with a copy of the signed agreement and only received it months later after specifically requesting it.

During our membership, we repeatedly enquired about how missed classes would be handled and were assured that classes could be rescheduled. In March 2026, we specifically raised concerns regarding the impact of the April public holidays and the number of classes that would be missed as a result. We were advised that these classes would be rescheduled.

However, after the public holidays had already passed and the classes had been lost, we were informed for the first time that classes could not be transferred to a new month and would be forfeited if not attended within the same calendar month. The studio even acknowledged that this had not been communicated earlier.

We made every effort to resolve the matter amicably. We proposed a simple and reasonable solution, namely that the missed April classes be transferred to May while we continued to pay our normal May membership fees. We further addressed correspondence to the studio in an attempt to avoid a dispute and reach a mutually acceptable outcome. Unfortunately, our emails and proposals remained unanswered, and no meaningful engagement was forthcoming.

Instead, the studio insisted on enforcing the cancellation clause and sought payment for an additional month.

What disappointed us most was not the dispute itself, but the manner in which it was handled. Communication throughout our membership was inconsistent, concerns were not dealt with constructively, and the owner's approach to resolving issues left us feeling disrespected and undervalued as paying clients.

We have since moved to another Pilates studio and, through that experience, have realised how important professionalism, communication, and customer care are.

Unfortunately, based on our experience, we would not recommend Pilates Dynamics. We believe clients should be treated fairly, important terms should be clearly communicated upfront, and reasonable efforts should be made to resolve disputes before resorting to demands for payment.
