Unfair dismissal

I was in a contract that is under pikitup and experienced an unfair dismissal whereby we were told that the contract is on hold until further notice but they wanted there PPE back,so I asked my project manager how come you guys want your things when you have not paid us,she failed to give me straight answer..the contract is active again and I was not called when I called her she said am dismissed because I raised my concerns with her, as an employee am I not allowed to voice out my concerns when it comes to my remuneration or else I will be out?
