picup refusing to pay medical bills after their driver bumped a boy

one of the drivers bumped into my 3 year old boy in our estate, he had fructures , they asked for scans and ask how we would like to be assisted, i only ask them to pay for medical bills and person assisting us since i am a working mom, they agreed and said they will come back to me, i received a regret letter to say the boy was wrong the driver was operating the vehicle within designated speed limit within the estate, i am not happy with that because i even told them the reason the driver was not speeding is because he was lost and was busy on the phone then decided to drive and he also said he did not see the boy, obviuosly because he was not looking at where he was heading. i really need help with the bill and paying the person who was assisting us as the baby was not allowed to walk for 3 weeks

 Hi Fhatuwani,

I am deeply sorry to hear about the incident involving your child and our crowdsourced driver. Please accept our sincere apologies for the unfortunate situation and the inconvenience caused.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in resolving this matter. It's encouraging to hear that our driver personally visited to apologize and check on your child's recovery progress. We also appreciate the amicable conversation between you and our driver who has committed to contribute towards the hospital bills.

We hope this agreement brings the necessary financial assistance and support during this challenging time.

Warm regards,
FM

I am very disappointed in your business and driver, we had agreement before he can even pay 20,% of our agreement he went AWOL I tired to reach out to you and no help was received, I fail to understand the kind of business you run, you cannot assist your driver with contributions towards bill but you managed to send one of your business representative from Cape town to jhb twice using flight to come investigate I believe the costs for that amounted to something over R5000 which could have helped you in assist in contributing towards the bill. The investigation could have been done telephonically, logically there's no sense at all.

Hi Fhatuwani, upon receiving your feedback we tried following up with the driver and the driver has not been active on our platform for some time and therefore not working with us for reasons we are not aware of.  Please note from the prior discussions we had that the incident that occurred was not the driver's fault, however, the driver had agreed to pay some form of compensation out of goodwill.  As previously advised, the driver is an independent contractor, so Picup does not take on the responsibility in situations like this.
