Phumula Lodge Matubatuba -Beware

<p>We spent 3 days confirming the details of our booking with the owner/manager. We were looking for a reclusive weekend getaway and specifically asked for private lodges near the water. It was all confirmed by the owner and we drove 250kms on dangerous roads from Durban to start our weekend. When we arrived we were told that our lodges had been given to someone else and we had been moved to the main reception house. The owner had no apology and shouted at us over the phone. We were told to take it or leave it and if we werent happy we could basically get ********** We were absolutely shockedat the lack of hospitality s****s displayed by the elderly female owner. She never once apologised nor offered a compromise. She wasrude and unfriendly. The co owner, her son never called us back as he said he would and we waited a week for him to do so. We travel alot and were horrified at the lack of responsibilty and people s****s!. we dont blame the staff they were sweet and quiete its the owners who are absolutely clueless as to how importnt it is to honour bookings and follow through on promises. we will never ever return, nor reccomend this place</p> <p> </p>
