PHONETANA ****

I recently purchased an item from Takealot and was given a survey to complete. Upon completion I was informed I won an Iphone and had to pay R20 for delivery. The money was apparently paid into an account in the name of Phonetana, who subsequently sent me an email thanking me for my subscription and giving me the ffg message: "You can now login to your www.phonetana.com account using the below info... " A user name and password was created for me. I didn't bother to get into the account as I immediately suspected a ****. A day later an amount of R269,78 was deducted from my account. I immediately complained to the company and received the response that I did not follow up and read their terms and conditions which would mean an automatic deduction every 2 weeks of the same amount. I asked the lady to please cancel my account immediately and refund me the amount deducted. She cancelled future payments but said that since I did not reply to their mail I was not eligible for a refund. This is definitely a **** which I hope others will not fall for. I certainly learned my lesson
