Negligence

On the night of the 15th of December 2021, I rushed my 4 month old son to Philadelphia Hospital Limpopo. He had a high fever and was vomiting. We were attended to as soon we arrived at causality. My son was admitted and transferred to ward 01 where 02 nurses were on duty for the night. Our details were taken and I was told I needed to leave my son to join the mothers another room, this was at around 02:00am. My son naturally started crying when I left. At 03:00am, myself and the other mothers came for a routine feeding session and I found my son still crying, almost an hour since I had left him, his face was cover with the bed sheetwhich could have suffocated him. He had vomited on the sheet but the nurses did not bother attending to him. I asked them why they did not remove the bed sheet from his face and I was not given an answer, instead was told to go get a clean bed sheet to change the one my son had vomited on. While this happened, one nurse was sleeping comfortably on a chair while the other played candy crush on her phone. My son could have suffocated had I not walked in there at the time that I did.
