Stay away from Petsure/Paws24

<p>I signed up for the Paws24 paws100 plan about three years ago. A few weeks ago one of my cats became sick and I took him to the Veterinarian. The veterinarian told me to come back the next day as he'd like to do some tests to try to find the cause of the illness. The bill at the end of the second day came to R2800. I submitted my claim and it was approved. Paws24/Petsure will only pay out R1500 of the R2800 I paid... I was charged a R440 excess fee with their reasoning being that my cat received 2 days of treatment when He only received one day of treatment. I called them and spoke to Robin at their claims department, according to her even though my cat wasn't treated at all on the first visit and the veterinarian told me to come back the next day that is still considered treatment??? They should really change the name of the paws100 plan to paws50. Anyone considering this I think you'd be much better off putting that monthly payment into a savings account and having the funds ready when/if something happens...</p>
