Name and Shame Only the beginning
Peters Watersports in Waterfall. My husband and I in mid October left our boat with him to sell as we were going overseas. The beginning of December I emailed to ask what was happening and their lady rep**** by email that good news boat had been sold that morning and deposit was being paid and we would be paid the following week.<br> When my husband went in the following week same lady told him to go to the back warehouse as there was a problem. When he got there the motor was in pieces and was told block had cracked...he was mortified and asked for peter the owner to phone him, even though the technician said not to worry they were sorting out.<br> After numerous phonecalls and no replies my husband had to fly out, when he got here I emailed the guy to which the reply was again...don't worry I have sorted out everything sale went through all done and dusted but can only sort out everything after new year, we said fine, we will sort out payment in new year...when I queried it on the 7th January I was then hit for a bill of R24000 for repairs I never authorised or agreed to and his arrogant attitude is he does not care. Pay or I carry on every network
I understand your frustration with this whole matter.
Please try and understand where we are coming from as we are often becoming liable for other peoples' latent defects on their boats etc that we sell, and end up making no profit or losing money because of it.
One client alone took us for R250k and immigrated to Auz !!! Amongst quite a few others that we have had to nearly closed our doors.
We now fight for what we believe in and have to be firm in cases like this. You cannot please everybody and there is often going to be a difference of opinions !! This does NOT mean that you or I are wrong or right but need to find a fair and happy medium . Business is tough enough today without all these types of losses to companies like ours.
You have seen all the pics and we have 4 witnesses, you also know that the block was welded before, we are not making this story up. You have the job card that shows what it cost us to repair. We had the boat at the dam for 20min with our client when the motor broke down and we still saved the deal.
We still owe you the balance of the money for the boat and have NEVER denied that and will pay u as soon as this mess is sorted out. So lets sort it out !!
