NEVER USE PETERS MINI REMOVALS - SHOCKING SERVICE MET WITH EVEN WORSE PROFESSIONAL ETHICS AND ETIQUETTE

I would like to express my utter most disappointment in the service and professionalism, my partner and I have received from Peters Mini Removals.

On the 23rd September, Peters Mini Removals team came to collect, as per the first time we used them, they were quick to load and blanket wrapped the appliances, excepting as we later learnt our mattresses which I specifically requested to be wrapped. It was hassle free as per the first time and the reason why we used them again.

This was short lived…

Before we arrived in Johannesburg, Peters Mini Removal had already delivered, however the team was so rude to me on the phone. The driver (I forget his name – Daniel perhaps) told me that he could not deliver our things and that I would have to organize another delivery. I got so angry because this is not the first time they have been to the address, so there is no issue with the road, scope for the truck to turn around – whatever excuse he threw at me on the phone was superfluous. Eventually, I asked the woman who was receiving our stuff to walk down and see what the problem was. She told me she was met with such unprofessional and rude behaviour that she was shocked. Nonetheless she persevered…

She managed to get the team to deliver our things – not without complaints from their side. Once the boxes and appliance were off loaded, they were put in their various places waiting for us to arrive. Upon arrival and upon inspection of our things, we noticed that boxes had been torn open and retaped, our mattresses smelt of cigarette smoke and had stains on them. I questioned the woman who received our stuff and asked her if she saw if the mattresses in particular were blanket wrapped as request. She said that nothing came into the house blanket wrapped.

Not only was the queen mattress completely and utter defiled, to the point where we have not been able to sleep on it, a week or more later. Our son’s single mattress, was also slept on, torn and has stains on it. It is obvious, that our request to blanket wrap these items was not adhered to. It is also obvious that our boxes were opened, and items ******. Other furniture has been badly damaged, with dents in it.

I emailed Melanie on the 30th September when we arrived in Johannesburg stating these problems and my disappointment with the service. I have still not received any response. I then asked my partner, Jacques, to contact her and deal with this situation.

He was met with such hostility, no remorse, unprofessional and patronizing behaviour, that he said he will complain on all the social media platforms, until we get compensated and/or be able to claim from their insurance for the damages incurred. Quite funny enough, Melanie told my partner smugly that none of this occurred, was no fault of theirs and that he could try claim or complain but he wasn’t going to get anywhere. What absolutely terrible behaviour! But in the email saying that she values us as a customer… her patronizing and condescending manner in which she has dealt with this situation has actually made it worse! He sent all the pictures to Melanie who offered us R500 in good faith. Really? This was when he responded, stating that we want to be put in contact with the owner Peter Arendorf and be advise on their claims procedure. We have yet to hear anything, of course…

It is funny, however that as soon as my partner posted something on Hello Peter that he got some sort of reaction. Firstly, the response was that he was not a customer but a third party – *******! Secondly, we had not disclosed what was in each box thus Peters Mini Removals is not liable. ******* again - why must I disclose what is in my possession? So that Peters team knows exactly which box to open to ***** from, instead of opening all the boxes and tampering with all our stuff?

Where is this Peter Arendorf? How can he let his customers be treated like this and there be no recourse? How can he let someone like Melanie run the show, when she clearly has no empathy for their clients situation nor has the ability to be professional?

I want to know how I can claim for these damages!

I am not happy that two weeks after arriving in Johannesburg, we are still sleeping on the floor because of Peter’s Mini Removals disgusting service!

I am happy to share any correspondence, and photographic evidence to support this complaint!

Good Day Megan

Thank you for taking the time to write this review with the way you feel regarding your moving experience with our company, I sincerely apologize for the way you feel about your move with our company. As we aim at providing a pleasant moving experience to all our clients when moving with us.

When doing moves with our company we provide all clients with an official quote as well as terms and conditions of our company and the way in which the move will be done. When moving goods long distance we blanket wrap all furniture items when loaded onto our long distance truck and that is what was done when loading your furniture items. However when it comes to loading mattresses and sofas we offer  plastic sleeves at an addition cost in order to ensure the safety and cleanliness of these items.

When arriving at your collection point the team offered you or who ever was overseeing the move the plastic sleeves but it was refused and said you are not willing to take this service, thus meaning you would be fully aware to the fact that your mattresses were not correctly package for the long haul to Johannesburg.  The team that collected also confirmed that the two people overseeing the move were both smokers smoking inside of the house thus would confirm the reason as to why your mattresses are smelling of smoke. This was not the same team that delivered the goods to Joburg as the goods were picked up by our local team.

With regards to  delivery,  when delivering goods with a horse and trailer of a length of 22 Meters the driver needs to be extra cautious when entering narrow roads in order to protect the public from any obstructions or getting the truck into a situation the truck may not be able to exit.

With regards to your damaged boxes we do apologize for the fact that boxes got damaged in the truck however this would possibly happen as you made use of 2nd hand Simba boxes. Those boxes are of inferior quality when moving long distance. When any of our teams discover matters similar to this they would put on addition tape around the boxes into to ensure the best possible safety of the boxes.  Hence the reason as if the boxes looks as if they were re taped.

As for me Peter Arendorf unfortunately I was  out of office for 2 weeks due to medical Surgery.  We as a company are more than willing to take ownership should there be a fault or mishap from our side. As our staff are extremely experience  and competent as we move many satisfied clients each month through the country. We have also checked the delivery note that was signed off by the person receiving the goods and there was no mention of damages the note was signed that all goods were in the same condition as collected. The person that received the goods was so pleased with service she even gave the team a tip.

Once again I do thank you for your public opinion however i feel this review is false and aims at sabotaging our company as this is the 3rd time a review of this nature was made pubic by you and people with association to you.

This is not the service we aim to provide as we aim at providing a pleasant `moving experience to all our clients and value each client moving with our company.

Regards

Peter

Dear Peter,

You have misinformed by your team!

You say that we refused for the mattresses to properly wrapped - WE DID NOT! We specifically asked for them to be blanket wrapped, this what ever you say was NOT DONE! In addition, to this not being done, you team told us that they sleep in the truck. Why must we bare the brunt of your staff not being catered for and provided accommodation?

Again, you have been misinformed by your team! Neither myself nor my partner smoke. Which ever team delivered our belongings to Johannesburg;
a) should never have utilized our mattresses.
b) been smoking in the back of your truck - put simply it is a hazard!
c) this still does not negate the fact that there is damage done to both mattresses!

With regards the drivers excuse for delivering our belongings, the truck had ample space to maneuver, and turn around. This was not a problem when I first used your company why would this be a problem now?

Your mention of inferior boxes is ridiculous! This again does not change the fact that items have been ******! In addition, Melanie was informed that those boxes were in fact doubled boxed, so in no way would they be torn to the extent that they were. AGAIN, where are my ****** items?????????????

I would have no problem with the boxes being retaped if there was nothing missing!

Your staff are not competent, nor are they professional or show any ethics! They have **** and misinformed you, they have ignored emails and requests. If you read, your social media, you will see plenty of complaints about your so call competent staff member. Peoples boxes have gone missing, people are sleeping on floors in the new apartments because of the terrible level of service you have delivered!

There must be some RECOURSE!

What is your claims procedure? I want to claim for the damages that have incurred from your teams incompetence!

You believe this review is false, however I have photographic evidence of the damage your team has caused as well as correspondence.

A review of this caliber needs to be written so that others do not experience what we have. As stated in my original review, I asked my partner to take over the issue and deal with Melanie as she did not respond to any of the my emails. It was her blatant disregard and patronizing manner in which she dealt with this issue that brought us to Hello Peter. If you and your staff, only did the right thing, 3 reviews as you say, would NOT have been publish!

If this is not the service you aim to provide, then you will disclose your claims process, do the right thing by your customer and then perhaps, I will think about taking this review down.

Good day

Thank you for this however i feel as if you are the one that is misinformed regarding our operational procedures.  The staff offered you the plastic covers which you refused in order to save cost, unfortunately we do NOT blanket wrap mattresses and sofas as our blankets are used move after move and may  not keep your mattress as clean as what you would like. Hence the reason for the plastic sleeves. These sleeves ensure the safety and cleanliness of beds and sofas. However i see you posted a damaged mattress you are more than welcome to contact us privately to discuss the matter and the way forward.

Once again to clear this up you are 100% correct in saying the team sleep in the truck, however they have a separate crew cab with there beds in as well as the Horse has a bed behind the seat for the driver. Should you have insight of our industry you would fully understand. The load that left CT was 100% full so it would of been impossible to have had space to pull out your beds and sleep on them. You claim you and partner do not smoke however the local team that collected your goods would have no reason to make this statement should this not be true. They can not exactly say what was being smoked however they are 100% sure people at the pickup point were smoking of some sort..

This driver that delivered your load has been employed by PMR for the past 8 years driving the Horse and trailer throughout the country each week so there would really be no reason for him to say he can not access a street unless hes not completely convinced its safe to access and exit with this large vehicle.

If I go through your original emails and quote request, I see that  you sent a list of furniture items and stated there will be a few boxes of cloths and books. Now you are making allegations that electron goods were ******. I find this to be false with the intent to cause damage to our company. Not once was it mentioned that goods were ****** or goods were damaged on the signed off delivery note. The person even gave the team a tip to thank them for the service.

Once again I do thank you for your public opinion however i feel this review is false and aims at sabotaging our company in order to achieve person gain. In the even of a fault from our side we are more than willing to sort out the matter in order for the client to feel satisfied with the move done by our company.

Your lack of moral and ethical compunction to do the right thing is most telling to the kind of company you run and the kind of person you are...

One only needs to read through previous reviews to see that I am not falsifying this experience. One such review states, "Be prepared for damages, lies and excuses". This is very correct and in line with my experience... there are many more terrible reviews along these lines.

The very fact that you are now excusing me and my character is extremely disgusting.

If you, as you say are willing to sort this matter out, then you will do the right thing and advise on your claims procedure.
