Smokers paradise

The one outstanding feature of the otherwise very ordinary Pestana Kruger Lodge is the Crocodile River viewing deck which also doubles as the hotel restaurant. However, if you are a non smoker, the deck is a non starter. There are ashtrays on all of the tables. Second hand smoke is compulsory it seems. Smokers abound. Appeals to the hotel staff are met with hands in the air and "there is nothing we can do" Really? Suggestions to the general manager Dave Hackney that ashtrays be removed from some of the tables and a smoking area be designated are fobbed of with an "assurance "that the matter will be considered. Fat lot of good that is. If you are a non smoker stay away. If not there is nothing special about this place.
