DSTV Installation ****

I phoned Satellite King having found their number on Google. Their installers came the next day to supply and fit a new satellite dish as the old one had been blown off in a storm. I didn't bother to check on their price, as the previous installation in its entirety (including wiring) had come to R1550. They fitted the dish, went into the house and checked the connection and then presented me with a bill of R6375 - about ten times what I had expected to pay.I queried this, and they said that they had put in such and such a dish and a smart lnb They then app**** pressure by saying that it was against company rules to leave without proof of payment and they would get into trouble. So, like a fool, I paid via eft and gave them proof of payment, after which they left. I have subsequently tried to sort things out with their 'boss', but although I have phoned four times and spoken to him twice, he is now no longer replying to my calls despite offering a refund first. He maintained that they should have offered me a choice of dish (but as I recall the ones in the bakkie were all the same), and whether or not I wanted a smart lnb. My point is that they didn't do this, but in any event a smart lnb costs between R299 and R499 (on Google), not the R1400 on their bill. Ditto the satellite dish, which costs between R300 and R645 (according to Google), not the R3800 noted on their bill. These guys are a complete ******* and I urge anyone looking for a repair or installation to establish the price first, as I should have done.
