FIRST ASCENT PATHFINDER TREKKING POLE

I purchased a FIRST ASCENT PATHFINDER TREKKING POLE from Sportsmans Warehouse. It comes standard with a RUBBER TIP PROTECTOR, mud basket and snow basket. This so called RUBBER TIP PROTECTOR is certainly designed physically and visually to be used whilst hiking. However, within 40 meters the Tungsten Tip came straight through the rubber tip and I was hitting metal onto rock with obviously disastrous results, slipping and sliding. I sent the company FIRST ASCENT / PERFORMANCE BRANDS an email with my complaint and was told by Mike Moran that that rubber tip is only to be used as a cover whilst transporting the stick from place to place. HOW RIDICULOUS !! WHAT ******* !! Google it, rubber tip are meant to be used on hiking terrain. They are all similarly designed !! Wider base etc. So my complaint is the quality of the product as well as staff thinking I'm some sort of idiot !!!!!
