The importance of good manners.

Its mothers day and since yesterday I was planning to go buy my wife night dress and sleepers. We went to PEP fochville branch (store number D***) and bought from there. At the till we were helped by Lindiwe. A lady next to her till started threatening my wife because we instructed Lindiwe to cut inside threads from the hanger which were rolled too many times as Lindiwe was struggling to unroll them quickly.

Lindiwe was helping us nicely and we agreed as buyers the thread was a problem. We agreed to pay and take product as is without threads that are inside.

The lady next to her called Emily according to the supervisor attacked us. Saying we not suppose to give instructions to Lindiwe, what if we come back with attitude to lay a claim. “She is watching us and she is on us she said”, with an angry face. This lady was not even serving us. She jumped from her till ignoring her customers to ours to launch an attack that was unnecessary.

We were very upset but kept quiet and reported the matter to the supervisor, its our money that was used, and what we do with a product does not concern her and we paid for it because we deemed it fit without inside strings.

If she had concerns she could have asked Lindiwe to make sign the slip. We must treat everyone with respect. We must not generalise and we must never assume that people who buy from PEP are under-privileged or poor to stand up for the selfs. This is a free country and good manners cost nothing.
