Singled out and Searched at the Store for no reason

I went to PEP Store at Boardwalk Mall in Richards Bay,the PEP that is located opposite Pick n Pay, on 28 September 2018 sometime around 12.30pm-13.00pm. As I was getting out of the shop one of the guys was busy with clothes close to the door by the baby's clothing. He stopped me and asked to search me. I was surprised because I've been going to that PEP since 2013 and I've never been searched at the door or seen anyone get searched. I asked him why is he searching me because I've never seen anyone get searched at that shop ,and why is he searching only me out of all the people in the store, he responded by saying he's got a right to search me at anytime. I asked him of he suspects that I stole something,he responded no. I didn't want to cause a scene so I opened my bag he searched me and I left. I'm not happy at all about this experience. I don't appreciate being singled out like some petty ***** and being the only person being searched at the store, I don't even understand why it was done to just me out of all the people in the store. And from my understanding it's security personnel that searches people,that guy was not security. I feel very much discriminated against. I'm a regular customer at PEP but this experience just left a bitter taste in my mouth.
