I am on a roll on Hello Peter lately because I am honestly disgusted by what our country has become. As someone who has been in retail for 25 years, revolting is the only word I can think of . It’s 15:00 on a Thursday. I’m someone who doesn’t own many expensive things when it comes to bedding because I change mine often I get bored with a room quickly. So when it comes to throws, duvets, carpets and even kitchen stuff, I’m a huge PEP fan.
I got there today and the doors were closed. The ladies were busy mopping. I asked them very nicely through the door with my hands, “Why?” The lady standing right at the entrance just looked at me and laughed. Eventually she pointed at an A4 paper: “All PEP stores will be closed today from 15:00. Sorry for the inconvenience.”
Nr 1: No communication. She was right at the door — a simple sorry or explanation would’ve helped instead of just laughing and laughing and laughing Nr 2: If we in our businesses have to do cleaning or maintenance, we do it early mornings before opening or late evenings after closing. What is this? Are you so stingy that you’re scared to pay your staff a bit of overtime? Or are they too lazy? Please don’t phone me or apologise. Its not the purpose of my complaint I just want your head office to know that if they are aware you are doing this during trading hours, it’s honestly sh*t style.
I didn’t see anything wrong inside the store. The lady at the door didn’t explain anything; people just turned around and walked away. All I saw were three ladies mopping the floor. Usually when we cannot trade, we have someone at the door explaining to customers what is going on.
To Sheet Street: Thank you so much for your friendly service. You have beautiful décor, and I really enjoyed shopping with you. You’ve just won over a loyal customer.
