PEPcell southgate, sells phones with are defective on purpose

I bought a Itel V41 phone 7 days ago in Pep cell southgate mall, 2 days after a bought it, I took it to the store because it was way too slow, it couldn't set ringtone and the screen froze at times. It overheated when frozen. The assistant there told my husband it cannot be changed, if we have a problem we must either complain on customer care or take it for repairs. She said it was slow because it is cheap and 3G. They couldn't take it even when he suggested to pay more money to get a better phone. Today, the phone is stuck on starting screen. The battery is heating up. Phone not working. What do I do now, go buy another phone? Even though I paid R400 for a phone 7 days ago. They told us we can return the phone within 7 days when it has factory defects. Isn't these factory defects?

This is day light robery, being something that the company knows is not working then you are told you are stuck with it. The service we got was beyond bad. I wouldn't recommend anyone to buy any phone at pepcell. Once you bought it, they don't take care of their customers.
