PEP Musgrave **** the Elderly
Pep store Musgrave, Robyn, took gross advantage of my elderly mother. My mother went to Pep store in Musgrave and when purchasing her item was approached by Robyn to take a better/new loyalty card for shopping at Pep. My mother, who is 85, thought she would get better discount having this, went through the process. She then went on to purchase her goods and paid cash. She always pays cash as she is on a government pension and cant afford accounts. In December 2023, my mother started getting calls and text messages from Pep stating she owes money on her account and if she doesn't pay there will be interest added. This stressed my mother to extreme extent because she knew she paid for her items and never wanted an account. Robyn was very sweet at the time but misled my mother. My mother said she asked Robyn more than once about it being a loyalty card. Pep have phoned and texted numerous time over the last couple of weeks and I have had my mother on the phone in termoil over this. I was away and had to subdue my mother by saying, I will sort it out. Do not worry. I called Pep today to close this account. I was willing to pay the amount due and close and cancel this account. My mother is not with me, she is too stressed about this. I have my mothers full authority to close this account. The lady on the phone had to go ask her manager. She kept me holding for 15 minutes to come back to me to say that she cant help me, I have to have my mother with me. They do not have to speak to her, she just has to be with me. How crazy is that. I would like to have it noted that the extremely bad service I have received from Pep customer service and how they have ****med my mother with taking her money and opening an account and billing the same purchase on the account.
