PEP Money Transfers
My brother went into a Pep store on Saturday the 2nd November 2019 to deposit a sum of R1400. This money was deposited at the Katlehong Shopping Centre in Thokoza, Alberton at 12:24 and would be withdrawn at eNgcobo Town in the Eastern Cape.
The money was however withdrawn at several minutes later at Katlehong Shopping Centre at an ABSA ATM. We phone the Eastern Cape with the security pin. And at around 13:00 the person who was supposed to withdraw this amount said that it had already been withdrawn in Katlehong, we thought there must have been some sort of mistake and we drove back to the store to speak to a manager. Sadly our complain fell on deaf ears as we spoke to the assistant manager who advised that the manager would be in on Tuesday and would only look into the matter then.
We were chased off and asked to go open a case of Theft and told that Pep would not be taking any form of responsibility for this. Which we did do and it have been 6 days and we have not heard from the store and today I contacted the customer center and the consultant could not provide me with the complaints procedure. I requested to speak to her manager and even he could not provide me with the Complaints Procedure not even the Ombudsman contact details.
This seems like something that is faulty in the system and I see it has been happening for years now and the company have been very well aware of but not willing to do anything to rectify it because they could not care less about your customers.
