Someone has opened an account in my name a bout a year ago, I received an sms that the account is in arrears at that time and contacted their ***** department immediately. I requested the documentation of the branch and a copy of the paperwork, which they refused and I asked them to immediately close the account. Comes Friday the 4th of October, I get an sms saying that I still have R 7475.00 to spend on the account. I called on Monday 07/10/2024 and got the runaround when I wanted the account to be closed immediately. They want to send me forms to fill in to close the account. I am not prepared to do that as it would mean that I would be accepting responsibility of the account. It is just ridiculous that someone can just open an account your name.
