None transparency sale

My mom went to the Pep Store in Dawnpark to purchase a phone during black Friday. My mom is a pensioner and is not knowledgeable when it comes to certain things, and I feel that Nosipho took advantage of that when selling her the phone. Nosipho sold my mom a phone and was not transparent about the fact that some of the accessories are not included in the package.

My mom only realised when she got home that the smartphone came with a ÿUSB Type-C data cable only, but there were no earphones or a charger plug in the box.

What got her suspicious was the fact that Nosipho did not open the phone box in front of her and also did not disclose that the phone does not come with the headsets and a charging plug. Outside the phone box it stipulates that the phone box must be opened in front of the customer and in this case it was not done that way and that is totally wrong. I then advised my mom to go see Nosipho the next day. Nosipho's response to this was yes, phones come like this nowadays and did not even apologize for not disclosing that to the customer.

It is the duty of the salesperson to be transparent and disclose all information about the product before and during the sale to allow the customer to make an informed decision. On Wednesday I was off from work and decided to accompany my mom to go see the store manager Kate and inform her about this. Her response shook me, all she could say was maybe Nosipho was busy on that day and forgot to tell your mom. She did not see the need to apologize for the service failure and take accountability for their mistake yet felt the need to defend her staff for the wrong doings. I'm so disappointed in the level of professionalism in that place.
