No refund because they hadn't made any sales yet!!!

PEP, Ferndale on Republic - I went early in the morning and was told they only open at 09h30. Ok so I sent back to get a refund for 2 items. I was told "we cannot refund you, because we haven't made any sales yet today" !!!!! Who ever heard of such ******* from a large well-known outlet?? No more PEP for me, no matter if I get the item for FREE!!
