Items not price tagged

On Saturday 07/09/2024 i visited the Pep stores in Cleary Park Port Elizabeth. One specific rack of clothes for boys (t's and shorts) had the tag on the clothing but no price. On the rack was a big sign from R39.99. When i asked the sales consultant about the price i was told that she was not sure what the price was but that they advertise the lowest price on the big add on the rack but that i can always go to the front and do a price check.

Now what is the use of adding the barcode tag but not adding a price. Most people purchase items based on the price that they see but at this store you must go stand in a long que only to get to the cashier and then you realise that the item costs more then what you can afford.

This is really a silly way of working.
