Hurricane Cellphone - 2 Weeks old, wont stay on and sent for repairs.

On 14 April 2019, I returned a Hurricane cellphone to Pep Stores in Greenfields East London. My daughter had the phone for literally 9 days when it started switching off by itself. When on charge it came on, and the minute it got taken off charge it would die again. I would like to know why, when the phone is "brand new" does it have to be sent for repairs??? It's not like I paid R5000 for the phone. it was only R750, It has no scratches, no bumps and did not fall. I feel like they should have given me a new phone, seeing as we only had the phone for almost 2 weeks. When I try to contact the store, no one answers and customer care keeps telling me to phone the store. In the meantime, I have a teenage daughter who keeps asking me about her phone and I have no answers, no one can even tell me if the thing has been collected from the store. I am not willing to wait 6 to 8 weeks to "find out" that they will not replace it, because 10 to 1 that is what the outcome will end up being. If the phone was months old, then yes, send for repairs / opinions. I need to either be given a new phone for my child or my money back so I can go elsewhere and purchase another phone.
