Humiliated Granny M Thomson

I went to pep this morning to send my granddaughters Christmas present as we were suppose to go to KZN for Christmas but had to cancel because my son came down with covid I bought a PAXI bag for R100 but when I got home realized it’s to small so I went back to the shop and asked if I could change it and pay the difference the assistant said they don’t refund on bags which was fine as I had opened it I bought another bag for R120 and went to the car packed it and came back in to post it ,the same assistant proceeded to raise her voice and said why did you put buff tape on they won’t take it with buff tape on ,she made quite a scene about the buff tape ripping it off and speaking in her language in a raised voice then said granny you better help me get the buff tape off the man is here to collect I helped her and I said to her you need to put a sign up saying no buff tape also you need to display the sizes of the bags .one of the customers in the line actually winked at me as everyone could hear the commotion the assistant was making .Is it because I’m old that I must be treated like I’m stupid and be humiliated by a shop assistant I will never buy from that shop again and I will rather use pick and pays courier service in future .Pep needs to contact one plan and find out who trains their staff because that assistant needs to learn people skills
