********** marketing??
On Saturday 28 April I purchased a Dstv decoder from pep stores at the whalcooast in Herm****. The price of R599 included dish and installation. I was then given a number to call in regards to said installation. I called that same day and the technician asked me to send him my adress via sms or WhatsApp. I spoke to Joul. Sunday morning, while at work I received a call from another technician asking me again for my adres. I was under the impression that with it being a long weekend, the installation will only take place on Wednesday. But, at 18h00 on Sunday 29th of April, I received another call asking me for the address again, because the technician wason his way. I thought it strange that such an installation happens on a Sunday so late. Being at work I called my wife to meet the technician, because he couldn't find our house. When he eventually got there, he didnt want to do thr installation because he was scared to leave his bakkie outside. So he left. Today I went to a different branch of pep stores in the CBD of Herm**** and was given a different number to call from another approved installer. Now I get told that I must py R150.00 call out fee. Undwr normal circumstances I wouldn't of minded, but my purchase price of R599 included installation and no mention of an call out fee was diacussed with me. Now I have to incur an unnecessary expense for an installation that was part of the purchase price. The installer says that pep stores staff knows about this but does not mention it to the clients. Is this not then false advertising? Possibly *****? I personally don't mind paying, but its not what was agreed upon at the time of installation. Maby pepstores should devote some of the billions it makes annually to staff training for product knowledge!
