Fixed a Minor Fault… Lost My Entire Warranty?
Late last year I bought a pair of Bluetooth head sets from PEPcell (let me rather say recieved- because I had to return two previous ones due to one issue or another). About 3ish months ago, the magnet for the case started to pop out every other day. Not thinking much of it as a reason to return the whole product, I opted to use super glue to keep it intact. This worked WONDERFULLY as it has never fallen out again, however a bit of the glue ran onto the cover on the inside. I'd like to point out that the glue DIDN'T TOUCH ANY ELECTRICAL PARTS.
Fast forward to yesterday, I realize that the case isn't charging anymore. I try many different cables and it's all the same. This means, once the power dies on the ear pieces, they'll be no way to charge them. This renders them useless even though then work perfectly. I went to PEPcell at Gateway and they said I'm still within warranty and can get a new pair. I mentioned the glue and immediately the tone changed and I was told the item is now considered damaged and cannot be exchanged. I then asked if they can do repairs on it if I can't get another pair and they said no. The same was told to me by the customer care representative I spoke to and her manager who called me back.
I know they were only R150 but I asked if they planned on selling them to someone else. The answer was no - so then my question is, why can't they be exchanged if the case won't go to another person? So I was wrong to fix the magnet issue? Cause now that's what's standing between me and new (same) earphones. I would buy a new case if that was an option.
