Extremely Unprofessional Behaviour.Forced Purchase & False Accusations

I visited PEP Krugersdorp West today and experienced some of the worst customer service I have ever encountered. I opened a pair of children’s tights carefully to check the size because the store provides no display items. The packaging was not damaged and the item was still in perfect condition.

At the till, the cashier spoke to me in a rude and aggressive manner and insisted that I had to buy the item. Another staff member then loudly accused me of being “******” in front of other customers, even though nothing I said was racial in any way. She continued speaking about me to other customers in her own language. This behaviour is completely unacceptable and unprofessional.

To make matters worse, the cashier forced me to purchase the tights, even after I made it clear that I no longer wanted them due to the way I was being treated.

I also pointed out a pair of children’s shoes on the shelf that were visibly dirty inside, clearly previously worn, yet still being sold as new.

I will be escalating this matter to PEP Head Office and the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud. No customer deserves to be treated this way.
