EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED LOYAL CUSTOMER
Today I've been to the pep store at city view center on Umgeni road Durban and walked out of the store in tears and extremely disappointed. I had three ladies sandwich me on 4 occasions of which they managed to get a hold of my purse on the 4th occasion. I immediately realized that my purse was missing and shouted out aloud and asked the ladies to stop. A guy by the name of Nkosenhle Nkosi who claimed to be the manager came to my assistance however failed to assist me as his customer. I requested him to please close the door, check the cameras and search the ladies that had been sandwiching me in the store however he blatantly told me that he is not permitted to close the door and said i should search the ladies myself. After the manager refused to do this the ladies quickly started making their way out of the store but when I made a noise and all the other customers were looking at them the quickly agreed to be searched of which the manager just poped his head into their bag and said they had nothing that belonged to me. The ladies then quickly left the store and the manager did absolute nothing claiming that according to the rules of pep he is not permitted to close the door nor search the ladies. The accused ladies left the store with my purse containing R1150 as well as my bank card and ID. I informed the manager of this and all he said is I'm sorry but shouting won't help and there's nothing he can do but advise me to open a case at the police station. I requested to view the camera footage but to my surprise the store doesn't even have a single camera. I was then taken to the center management office as Nkosenhle advised that the center has cameras at the store entrance however even those people were of no assistance instead they requested i fill in an incident report form. I then requested to view the camera footage of the store entrance so that I could identify the ladies that had ****** me but was sadly informed that I am not allowed to view any footage. I requested Nkosenhle to report this to his manager who said that Nkosenhle is to advise me that there is nothing they could do for me except that i needed to open up a case. I then requested Nkosenhle to provide me with the area manger's number so that I could speak to her but she blatantly refused. I asked Nkosenhle to give me her name of which he hesitated however said that the area manger's name is Desiree Nair. I am a very hurt and disturbed customer of pep as nothing was done to assist me in anyway and the money that was taken from me was for my transport to and from work as well as to buy bread daily for my kids. I am a single mom and depend on every cent that i receive as a salary and to be a regular customer at that particular pep store yet get disregarded in that manner really disappoints me. Due to all of this and getting no assistance I still have to now make a new ID as well as a new bank card which will cost me more money, money that I don't have. I will never set foot in any pep store ever again and will also ensure that my families, friends and people I know also does the same because if this store advised that they could not search the ladies or close the door to assist me the same rule would apply to all the other branches. I received very poor customer service and hence lost all faith in the store and their staff.
