Exchanges only done where item was purchased

I don't know when last I was this angry.last Sunday I take my kids our to the key West Mall which is far from where I live but while at the mall I go into Pep cell and buy a phone. Very beautiful set of ladies nicely help me out and I go about my day. The phone unfortunately has technical issues from thr battery stopping charge at 35% to going blank inbetween calls. I'm literally playing the restart game with a new phone. Today I ask from work if I can leave early so that I can go to exchange my phone. Got to Pep Blackheath and unfortunately they dont have stock but we're willing to change my phone no problem. I go to Pep home protea glen which is cpose to home to which I get the rudest ever cashier that tells me they dont exchange phones. I ask what does ur slip say. Mind u she hasn't even asked for this phone. She doesn't respond carries on with other Custer's coz clearly I'm wasting her time and calls sfiso. Again I explain because well she's not prepared to deal with someone who can read her slip. Sfiso goes to explain that they dont exchange phones that are not bought at their store and I must go back to the store where I bought the phone. I have never ever heard...then I ask him so if I had bought this phone in KZN of have to go back there for an exchange and with confidence he says yes. So luckily I'm working on Joburg this week but I'm inconvenienced because this Pep where I bought the phone is almost 45 minutes away from home. Can someone please explain how a whole manager doesng understand the company's written terms and conditions and u sell us faulty units hoping we would pass the 7 days in order for u to nicely say it's a user issue. I work in customer service and I would never ever ask our customer to kind inconvenience themselves because the rules on the slip only apply to slip.
