Emily lies about prices to customers

on the 27th August 2026 just before 10:28 i visited pep store meadowdale and bought few items. When i got to the till, the lady who was assisting me (cashier Sphelele) decided to enquire to her senior about the price of one of the items i was buying. i heard her saying the item is marked down as R39.99 but on the till its showing a higher different price. Her senior (I assume) then asked me if it was the only item on the shelf, which i found strange to be asked as a customer nevertheless i said yes. The senior then went to speak to her other senior colleague whose name was Emily and they disappeared together, I dont know where. I then waited for quiet sometime with the Cashier who was assisting me for the two seniors to return. The lady who was assisting me (The Cashier Sphelele) then decided to go check up on them. Thats when Emily came back carrying many items and said to me i will not be paying the price that is on the price tag. I then insisted to Emily that i am suppose to pay the price that is on the price tag. Emily started saying to me the item is a mark down and i am not suppose to pay the price that is on the price tag, which is something i have never heard of in my life. I then told Emily that i need the item thats why i am buying it. Emily then heat the item on the table and said i changed the price of the item, which i found very insulting. i then asked to see the manager and she said she is the manager and she doesn't care i can report her. What i find disturbing is that this was the second incident of this nature i have heard with Emily. Few months back i bought a phone at your store. I remember seeing the price on your window and when Emily was assisting me, she charged me R49 extra. I honestly let it slide because i thought it was in the afternoon and didn't feel like arguing. Now she does it again when we visit your store. Why does Emily feel entitled to ****** money from customers? She is so arrogant about it and its clear that she has been getting away with it for some time. If you have cameras instore, please check. Its quiet disturbing that pep is a reputable brand but we now cant come to your store because we will be bul**** by Emily lying about your prices, PEP, it seems like you have hired a ******** here, which makes us feel unsafe at your store.
