Disgusting traumatic experience at Kenilworth Pep

Bad experience at Pep Kenilworth, Thursday 27/04/2023

I have been shopping at Pep for as long as I can remember mom of 7 kids and this is the first time I have experienced such bad service. No Pep that I have ever been to does bag checks as in my personal bag I went into Pep for no longer than 5 minutes if not less to check prices of the 9-10 tracksuits as soon as i left a lady at the door asked if she could check my bag. I told she is not allowed to and she called the manager who stated that all the shops in Kenilworth Centre does handbag checks, I told her its my personal bag, i did however let the woman check my bag as I had nothing to hide. Why target your customers as ******* why not install security cameras or that scanner that most shops had when you leave. Why must customers be subjected to this trauma.

I waited outside to check if she checked other bags as she said this is the norm and numerous people left without their bags being checked.

I feel this was wrong on every level and the manager also told me infront of everyone they can either check my bag in the back or infront even though I told her my bag was already checked.

This is disgusting behaviour from the Kenilworth branch.

Yesterday I was at the Ottery branch I frequent the Canal Walk branch often and have never been stopped to check my personal bag.

I feel this is a violation of my rights.

No signage stating personal bags checks will be mad which I told the manager, she was not interested only wanting to label me as ***** by consistently asking to check my bag even though I told her my bag was checked even though I stated it was *******.
