Describing a client by the color of their skin
I work in the telecommunications industry and every business has its errors. When contacting the store on the 21-09-2017 at 01:40:08 pm and spoke to Rulay, during our conversation and feedback she described the customer as "A BLACK GUY LIKE YOU WHO IS RUDE", I told her to refrain and not refer the client to me with the color of their skin. A customer is a customer, she hanged up the call on me after being so defensive, I called again at 14:17:34 pm on the same day and I spoke to Nishal, she told me the manager stepped out and i asked her whats the name of the manager and she told me its Rulay and i said since the manager is not there then i will escalate the matter to the head office, she asked me if she could assist and i told her and she said why would i escalate to their head office whereas they good the authorization to credit the client and i told her what Rulay said, in her response she said that's not being ****** and i said to her, i did not say and im not implying thats ****** but its wrong. Nishal continued to defend Ruyal and in once instance she said but the customer is black and i said you dont need to describe the features of the client according to the POPI act, and its not my business to know how the customer looks like, she said Ruyal told her that i said she is ****** and which its a total lie. Please address this because no one told Ruyal that I am black and she just assumed that I am black and as per the law she is wrong.
