Carlton center incompetence by Mathapelo
Sent my uncle to return an item as it was too big, firstly he was given the runaround as the item was bought cash stating that he needed the card that was used this was in Malvern Johannesburg pep branch then they stated that he has to go to the branch where he bought the item which is nonsense as an exchange can happen in any branch. He then goes to the branch where the item was bought (Carlton centre) they stated that the slip has faded as if it's the clients fault that cheap ink is used to print those receipt further more it the manager mathapelo took her sweet time to view the receipt she could have seen that the sku code shows a bit on the slip and is literally the one written on the tag. Time wasted and money wasted again, she dares to advise that he can exchange as an exchange does not require a receipt and SKU code. Make it make sense.
I demand my money back.
I am reaching out to seek your assistance regarding a recent experience my uncle had while attempting to return an item at the Pep branch in Malvern, Johannesburg. Unfortunately, he encountered several challenges during this process.
Initially, he was informed that he needed the original card used for the purchase, despite having paid in cash. Following this, he was directed to return to the original point of sale at the Carlton Centre, which seems unnecessary as exchanges typically can be processed at any branch.
Upon visiting the Carlton Centre branch, my uncle was informed that the receipt's details had faded, which seemed to be attributed to the quality of the ink used rather than any fault of his own. Although the store manager, Mathapelo, took some time to review the receipt, she stated that she could not proceed as the receipt was not of her liking and will look like they ***** clothes or whatever reason she gave that made sense to her at the time and advised that he can rather exchange which I believe needs the same receipt that she's refusing to proceed with the exhange which was confusing.
