Accused and Refund denied

I am beyond disappointed , I bought a cable from Pep cell Batho plaza at a value of R49,99 yesterday (15.11.2023) , so today (16.11.2023) I went for a refund because the same item was bought by my spouse and therefore I don’t need that one anymore , when I got to the store I was accused of damaging the box and was denied a refund , I am so furious because I got the box as it was , I even have proof that they sell goods with damaged boxes please refer to my attachment for proof. What makes me angry even more is that I was being told if the item was damaged they were gonna refund me , so to my question is that they can’t refund a damaged box but they can refund a damaged item? So should we as customers purposely damage items before we get refunded? Your staff should be trained better! And your till slip requires signature at the bottom to show that customer acknowledges those rules but I was not explained to asked to signed the slip

I further complain about the level of service I have received from the store by Leah and her colleagues, I was being talked over and shouted at , and they always have male friends who visit for hours and make shopping experience uncomfortable

On the attachment is the box of my cable and the damaged box that was on the shelf, please compare the two and make it make sense!!!!
