2G Sim Card is not Telkom
The reason I say poor is not because of PEP Stores in general, but because of the info I received from them and then to do a complaint I actually need to call, which I don't want to do as its not a serious issue and I'm only about R11 out of pocket, but it would have been great if the store manager was educated.
I needed a 2G sim for a kids smart watch. The store manager was called, I asked if all sim cards they sold was 2G compatible, and the answer was yes. I asked witch provider might be best for data, and Telkom was strongly advised. So I bought the Telkom sim card, and R10 airtime and RICA'd. TELKOM is not 2G ready, as I found out in the end.
So although I'm not keen on getting the R11 back, and definitely not going to go through the hassle of a call centre to lay an official complaint, I can only hope that other parents can see this and be educated. Go for a Cell C sim card as it ***gybacks on both Vodacom and MTN for 2G, giving perhaps the best option. Anyways, I think the store manager had the best intentions, but she was not well informed by the Telkom Rep, whoever this may be.
