Job application turned down
I called Pan travel and inquired if they had vacancies and was advised that they did have but I don't qualify cuz I did not have the opportunity to travel over seas or had the money to travel overseas. even though I did well at school and got a distinction for tourism they will not give me the chance to apply for the job. I don't see what traveling got to do with a job or the knowledge of a job. to book a ticket and visit a country don't give you qualifications in being a travel agent why shoot you down cuz you don't have money to travel.

Dear Ms Felicity Burts
Thank you for your message. I have left two messages on your voicemail and I have emailed you.
As I said in my email, our requirements for the travel agent position are that you have a matric, completed tertiary education and overseas travel.
The reason is because we have many clients who are travelling for the first time who have never experience getting a visa, flying on a long haul flight, going through customs or having experienced another culture. As a travel agent who has had that experience, coupled with their own personal passion for travelling, they will be able to confidently advise, service and sell our travel packages.
I do hope that you understand and I look forward to hearing you.
Kind Regards
